New Release by Chris Biscoe "Profiles Of Mingus" celebrating the music of Charles Mingus, and Dave Barry "FOUR"celebrating the music of Miles Davis

Chis Biscoe's new CD "Profiles of Mingus" TR575 is out now on Trio Records giving a fresh look at the music of Charles Mingus, focusing on his portraits of friends, enemies, lovers, cats and fellow musicians, plus 4 solo impressions of the master composer, bandleader and double bassist. Chris Biscoe has toured and recorded with many leading jazz names, including Hermeto Pascoal, The Brotherhood of Breath, Andy Sheppard, The New York Composers Orchestra and jazz legend George Russell. His recent CD 'Gone in the Air'(Trio578), which looked at the work of Eric Dolphy, was widely praised. Chris is a virtuoso player on various saxophones, and a leading figure on the alto clarinet.

A few copies of the micro-hit by Henry Lother/Jim Mullen/ Dave Green/Stu Butterfield are still available for purchase here on the Trio Records Website. Trio Records is very pleased to present this cd by four of the greats on the UK jazz scene. Henry Lowther's beautiful trumpet and flugelhorn sound has graced jazz in the UK for several decades. Jim Mullen is one of the most instantly recognisable jazz musicians on the scene today with a vast array of experience behind him. Dave Green has to be probably the UK's favourite jazz musician amongst his peers. His contribution to this album explains why. Stu Butterfield has established himself on the London jazz scene as a highly inventive and sympathetic drummer. The material takes a new look at some jazz standards, as well as a piece of Handel, and of course 'The Sound of Music'.. which this cd is. A NEW CD BY THE BAND IS IN THE PIPE-LINE
