THE TITLEY JAZZ FESTIVAL 2010

Dave Masters, one of the many Friends of The Appleby jazz Festival which ran from 1989-2007 now lives in the Welsh Borders and is organising a festival that will re-create the spirit of The Appleby Jazz Festival in a beautiful rural location in Herefordshire be it on a smaller scale.
The festival will take place at Titley Junction which is a privately owned railway station with a mile and a half of operable track and a couple of working steam locomotives. The owners, Robert and Lesley Hunt have given Dave Masters permission to use the site for the new festival.
The Festival will take place on Saturday 31st July and Sunday 1st August with the performances taking place in marquees.
Always a major attraction at Appleby was the high standard of the beer. Fortunately Dave Masters is treasurer of the local branch of CAMRA so the standard of the ale will be assured!
Dave Masters has booked some of the biggest names in British jazz to play at the festival including Stan Tracey, Clark Tracey, Alan Barnes, Peter King, Art Themen and Tony Coe, all of which had a close association with the Appleby Jazz Festival plus some newcomers such as the great tenor player Brandon Allen.
The festival will be opened by Neil Ferber, creator of the Appleby Jazz Festival.
